With the new 4K HDTV on our near horizon, a faster Internet is going to be required for the increase in bits per video… 4K HD Camcorders are available now…
Offshore Powerboat Racing is under duress, due to the economy, and legal problems recently…
Boating is an area of my passion, I love boating. Today I see a significant number of individuals involved in the boating industry recommended to me by LinkedIN, as possible connections, and wonder how the economy has impacted their area of business…
My investment in the APBA Offshore Racing, LLC. in 1999, was a dream come true since I watched my very first Offshore Powerboat race in the 70’s, going in and out the Golden Gate bridge so many years ago. The Offshore Powerboats were flying from swell to swell at very high speeds, Rocky Akoi won that year…
The boating industry needs customers, fuel, and a place to dock for some food and drinks. The lifestyle is unique, Fishing is great, and the industry is wide and varied, from Hot Boats to Sail Boats, and Trawlers that use very little fuel. With the tragedy of this past years deaths in Key West, a perfect place for boat racing, I wonder about the legal impact on the sport.
The APBA Offshore Racing, LLC. had a 99yr. license for Offshore Powerboat racing when I was a member of the APBA Offshore Racing, LLC. from the APBA non profit parent organization. I met many wonderful people in the sport of Offshore racing. The wife of Joey Gratton and her two young boys were on my yacht DREAMS in the SkyLounge, keeping score for the APBA Offshore, back in 1998-2002 era. I know the dangers of Offshore Racing, since my TalkStory Offshore Racing, Inc. OuterLimits sponsored by Team Lazzara “stuffed” in the SBI Offshore race in Deerfield Beach in 1999, and ripped off the bow of the boat at around 100mph. I didn’t think you could get hurt at under 100mph racing Offshore boats, I was wrong. My heart goes out to Joey’s family, I know he was one of the most wonderful people that I met in Offshore.
Recently I noticed an article in the Key West News about legal actions that concern me, since I was the acting Chairman of the KHAMAN Holdings, Inc. the end of 2003. ORL – Ocean Racing League was the newco of KHAMAN – Kraft, Hook, Allweiss, Miklos, Allweiss, Nemshof and was sold? to another individual Jan. 2004.
Yet with the article in the Key West News, my friendship with Lee Mills (RIP) and many others, I don’t see the sport ending, but hopefully it will mature and prosper, safely in our future. Keep racing, it is in our blood so to speak, man has always raced, starting with horses, and those that have done it for years will not wish to see it end, nor the Virtual Spectators that I used to get emails from, due to our APBA Offshore Racing, LLC show on SPEED in the early 2000’s…
I see a significant interplay with the APBA Offshore and SBI, OSS, et al. Solve the legal issues, and keep racing, the sport was always too small to have so many entrepreneurial groups, it needs to be one.
I have some great friends that earn a living in the Offshore Racing, Poker Runs, etc. that have been working in this small industry… NO, not the racers (the prize winning barely pay for fuel costs, yet alone the cost of operation of a race team), the boat builders and those that rig and support the race boats. I think more than those involved in the tragedy are being impacted by legal action. And I have always believed that TRUTH IS ETERNAL.
God Bless you,
Brilliant Flash 2000
It was a time like now, the air was moist from the Hurricane that had brushed Florida, and a Tropical Storm was growing south of Cuba. The Donald Harris had come down to visit and help me with the sanding and finishing my Library in Marco Island. Then a strong thunderstorm opened up, so I placed the Sony Hi8 Camcorder on the table outside of the master bedroom sliding door that opened into the enclosed pool area. And just let it run capturing the lightening and thunder and the heavy rain. I thought a lot about creating a new product for Personal Digital Libraries due to my background in Document Storage and Retrieval. Artificial Intelligence, PC Manufacturing and Test, QA, and since I grew up with the PC industry from the beginning, I knew that a product should have no boundaries, and no limits on its target market, since it was expected to continually evolve…
A place to work is needed, and a place to demo the integration of advanced Internet Technologies that would reduce the “what is it again?” questions.
What is the Artificial Technology Center
The Artificial Technology Center (ATC) is to be a new and unique research and development laboratory. Its purpose is to advance and promote the technology of high-speed (Broadband) Internet applications. The center will advance the technology with an innovative research and development series of projects. It will promote the technology by demonstrating and educating the public as to the new possibilities offered by a broadband Internet (Bi). The ATC will use a constant flow of the latest PC and Audio/Video equipment and systems. The ATC will be built inside of a normal Executive Office Building with the construction of a partial house (approximately 1200sqft.) with easy to visualize Smart House wiring and the ability to use the ATC house called a AiHome™ as a retail store, a live development lab, and a classroom.
Why is it needed?
The Center is needed for one primary reason – to develop profitable systems for the Internet of tomorrow. All businessmen are aware of the difficulties in developing new products. Developing products for the Internet is even more challenging because no one knows how the Internet will grow and what it will grow into. We do know that its amazing technological advances have changed the rules of commerce, yet we do not yet know what those rules have changed into. Because of this, developing creative and profitable products is much more difficult on the Internet than in the past.
The Center will be an environment designed to quickly produce new products and technologies. It takes advantage of the fact that advances in broadband technology will soon turn the Internet into a high bandwidth network to the home. These changes will open the door for a host of previously impossible applications. The Center solves the problem of how to create these different applications and it also determines if they will be profitable. It does this by building an environment where an Internet user can use the new applications in a meaningful and productive way, and where at the same time, we can assess their usefulness and profitability. The ATC’s environment is available online via the Bi and is called the AiDigital Library™.
What is the AiDigital Library?
The AiDigital Library is conceived as integration, both physically and in the abstract, of a library with the World Wide Web as it’s bookshelf. The goal is have an environment consisting of library and web, which fulfills the functions of both in the most useful and human centered manner possible.
We are building a library because a library, seen as a physical container of knowledge, has the same function as the Internet – today’s most successful and powerful container of Knowledge. The Internet has its enormity and timeliness of information, hyperlinks, plus the well-honed excellence of the various search engines The library, on the other hand, has the advantage of human comfort such as windows, chairs, desks, and space. Both however have the same function, which is to serve us humans in our ability to acquire, manipulate, and create information.
As the Center’s main tool for product development, the AiDigital Library will serve multiple roles as think tank, R&D facility, and technology showcase. By building it we hope not only to demonstrate the advanced capabilities offered by a high bandwidth Internet, but also to act as a bootstrap and catalytic agent for the development of commercially successful products.
The AiDigital Library will require innovative hardware and software I/O devices and solutions. The library must make one’s physical environment a powerful tool for accessing and manipulating the multitude of information streams present on the Internet: such as HDTV video, surround sound, hypertext search engines, and 3D visual data sets. Conversely, it must also allow one to control the physical aspects of the library in such a way as to facilitate one’s control of the Internet and it’s multimedia. Solving these problems, and in general building the library, will result in the profitable Internet application’s needed for commercial success.
The Artificial, Inc. “AiDigital Library” is a ongoing research and development project aimed at providing the user a multimedia digital library of all of their documents, photos, and home/corporate videos, as well as the using the internet as our Global Infobase.
How it’s done
The computer selected is a SONY VAIO computer system with a Pentium IV, DVD, DV Firewire interface, Macintosh G4 DVDr system, VideoConference Camera, Color printer, Sony LCD flat panel screen, and a Digital Camera. The human interface is a local web site using our AI 3D-library QTVR look and feel; the user can operate everything in the room. From the rack of the Home Theater equipment in the AI 3D library, the user can access the any of the equipment using a connection to the AV control system, as well as cruise the internet, or retrieve and show documents, movies, and images. The Control PC is connected to the home Cat 5 network or wireless network and to the Internet via a Broadband T1/DSL or faster. The performance of the resulting AiHome must have the ability to transmit and receive full motion video in a minimum of MPEG4 format to a maximum of HDTV format.
The use of various high capacity storage or Mass Storage Devices will be required to store and retrieve the massive amounts of digital information.

In this time of trouble across the earth, one should realize that Hawaiian Aloha can turn a Negative into a Positive…
In working on our Kraft Family Tree this past several years, I realized the value of History and my family’s connection to it.
I first traveled to Hawaii about 1976, and as I got off the airplane I realized the smell of the air, and the lovely Hawaiian women handing out Lei’s to new visitors to Hawaii. What a welcome I thought!
During the past many years since, I have taken my kids to Honolulu for my son’s high school graduation, and even before that, I took my daughter and son to Hawaii during the time I was raising my kids, as Mr. Mom… I had custody of my kids, and raised them, or was it the other way around?
Hawaii is a land that we basically took without a shot fired. Our missionary’s taught the Hawaiian people Christianity and other forms of religion. We imported Portuguese from the Azores to work the lands as ranch hands and cowboys, one Hawaiian ended up (Ikau Purdy) winning the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in 1908. The Hawaiian’s still sing “Waiomina” Wyoming…
The Hawaiian people lands were given or sold to many of the people that arrived in Hawaii in the 1800’s, with the requirement of the Hawaiian people to adapt to our culture and language, the flow of Chinese and Japanese, Filipino, Korean, and many other cultures came to Hawaii… that’s where we got da Pidgin Language… a combination of the Portuguese language, Hawaii and English languages, I think? “Why you did dat bruddah, you stupid, o’ wot?”
I learned on my trip with the Governor of Hawaii to China for the 1994 Aloha on Tour trade mission, my company in those days, DiagSoft had our PacRim HQ in the Maui Research and Technology Center MRTC in Kihei, Maui from 1992-1996, that Hawaii is about 63% Asian. During a visit to the Governor’s office in Honolulu to discuss bringing the ETRE/ATRE Conferences to Hawaii, I turned the light’s in his office “On and Off”, several times, saying Country/State, Country/State… John W. said you know more than most ha-oles… I took it as a compliment.
Aloha is the greeting one receives when coming to, and leaving Hawaii. I believe it is the greatest method to help the world calm down and get along together better. Aloha is not a religion, but an attitude… aloha
I have tried to use my www.bigkahuna.net (BigKahuna Network) in a positive and supportive manner for all of us… and at all times to respect the Hawaiian word “kahuna”.
A local guy (Hawaiian) in told me once, “Hey bra kahuna kinda like da Pope, eh bra” then he bought me a picture of beer… which we shared.
It is time for Peace.
Peace is the only solution, we have had over 2012 years to find an alternative…
aloha and mahalo
PS. I am still looking for a Hawaiian partner to make this web site positive for all of us.
Aloha to me is the ability to turn a Negative into a Positive.
My EDU Plan is aimed at helping the unemployed, underfunded, Entrepreneurs find a solution to success. America and the world have a significant Entrepreneur increase due to the economy. How do these newco’s learn to succeed, what resources do they need, why do they think they have the next best idea? In order to demonstrate my and my former employees capabilities, I have placed our DiagSoft ETSC video on YouTube, it clearly shows HOW TO LAUNCH a newco or product idea….
PS. always use the highest resolution for watching videos…
